The words are almost the same as in Ó Muirgheasa, but lacking the penultimate verse, and a translation is provided by Thomas Kinsella. The compiler describes the song as "A standard international ballad" and gives [himself] S. Ó Tuama "An Grá in Amhráin na nDaoine" as the source of information.
