Thread Name: Lyr Req: I'm a Lonely Little Petunia in an Onion..
Subject: RE: Petunia In Onion Patch
Cleo,

I have it on good authority (my mother) that it was sung on the radio in the fifties by Two Ton Baker, believed to be out of Chicago. The portion of the lyric my mother remembers (and it may be the whole song) are:

I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch, An onion patch, an onion patch. I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch. Oh, won't you come and play with me?

Boo hoo! Boo hoo! The air's so strong it takes my breath away, Quite away.

I'm a lonely little petunia in an onion patch. Oh, won't you come and play with me?

I hope this helps.
