Tucker, out here there are more wildflowers at 8000 feet than at (say) 5000 ft. Every time I'm up in the mountains in August and I see all those flowers that I can't grow (purple geranium, Rocky Mountain iris, scarlet gilia, etc.) I wished I lived up there. But when my salvia shrubs last into December and the crocuses start in January, I'm glad I live down here at 5600 feet. And now I've got Corsican pansy seedlings, which are supposed to bloom in every month of the year. We'll see.
Yes, I rent. I could lose everything I've planted. My method for dealing with this problem is denial.
