Told ya I'd be back soon. I see by the ol' Mapquest map that Staunton is a hop-skip-and-a-jump from Charlottesville, Virginia, which is where Thomas Jefferson's self-designed home Monticello is located. Even if you have no interest in the man or the US history, the architecture and Jefferson's inventions alone are reason enough to go take the tour of this place. According to the website, "Monticello is the only house in America on the United Nations' prestigious World Heritage List of sites that must be protected at all costs." IMO it is a must-see.
