Well mine are on the same continent at least, but I do wish they all lived closer. They are pretty good about phone calls, but I do miss being able to give and get hugs. I like having the house just to the two of us and I love that they are happy and independent souls able and willing to support themselves, etc. BUT it just seems it'd be better if they were closer! And, we've no one to blame but ourselves in raising them that way. I left my mom behind, took three of her grandkids with me and only saw her three times in ten years. She never did get to see her great-grandsons before she passed on. One doesn't like to say much to the kids so there's no feeling of laying on a guilt trip or just making them sad, too.:-) That's what I feel more than anything...is sadness at the passing of time so far apart.
