Thread Name: Lyr Req: Walk on guilded splinters (Dr. John)
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Walk on guilded splinters (Dr. John)
My American Heritage Dictionary contains "guild" (noun) "An association of persons of the same trade or pursuits..." and "gild" (verb) "To cover with ... a thin layer of gold..."; also "gilded" and "gilt" but not "guilded".

AMG lists 9 recordings of I Walk on Guilded Splinters and 3 recordings of I Walk on Gilded Splinters. It's hard to know what Dr. John had in mind, but "gilded" makes more sense to me. In fact, if the original request hadn't said "guilded" it probably wouldn't have occurred to me to look for the song with that spelling. So, if this song goes into the DT, how should it be listed?
