White vans are generic, often with no company name, maybe hired. I was trying to think of a model that would give the picture, but have no idea what the American equivalent is. They have closed backs - not pick-up trucks. Many may be used by market traders. Someone in the London press gave them a bad press, and they became an object of scorn. They are driven by White Van Man, who has a particularly aggressive style of driving. I don't know how justified the reputation is, but it was necessary to understand the message.
