John confirmed that he had dropped the verse to keep the song to manageable proportions on the CD. He wrote the song, like many of his songs, much longer and then edited back ... a sort of "folk process" in overdrive!

He suggested that, particularly in the English session signing, he could well see that all those extra verses would be appreciated ... that's why they did appear in margaret's booklet. (In fact, the text of the booklet should be somewhere on this hard drive, since Margeret had me read it before publication ... somewhere ... )
