Thread Name: Lyr Req: Dublin Bay + If I Was a Dog
Subject: Lyr Add: DUBLIN BAY (Stephen Fearing)
Dublin Bay... According to "Out To Sea" by Stephen Fearing, it's trad... his arrangement, he credits to Rob Menzies...

DUBLIN BAY

I'm going away to leave the misty mountains in the rain
I've crossed the great divide and now I'm crossing back again
I'm going to where the sun tempers gold into the grain
And the fields of waving wheat go on forever

And the future it's as big and as wide as Dublin Bay
With the foghorns cutting like the scythe upon the hay
And the months will pass you by until the stroke of New Years Day
And they'll all leave a mark upon your mind

When I was but a young man at the age of seventeen
I left my home in Dublin for to find and catch a dream
And many times I've wondered if I'm weren't completely mad
But I'd never trade my life for any other

So come near me now, good people; lend an ear to hear my tale
For the times we've spent together here will age like rusty nails
But there's something that I'd wish to say before the evening's through
May your hearts all laugh a-plenty; may your gods be good to you!

That last, "may your GODS be good" is my own change... [Fearing had "and may God be good"]
