Thread Name: Colour and musical instruments
Subject: RE: Colour and musical instruments
Kaleea, I'm quite impressed by your musical skills!... and also by your knowledge of the symbolism of colour! If you do happen to come back to this thread, perhaps you could help me to "enlighten" the rest of the folks here! :-) Anyway, what about singing and voicing or vocalising?... Well, if you go back to my chart, you will see that I tend to relate singing with Green! I was not just referring to Folk singing but any genre like (Pop or Rock etc...) Now, when it comes to "proper" voicing; Opera, classical singing, I would like to think deep Blue (not Royal Blue!... but just deep "plain" Blue...Royal Blue contains a little bit of Red... that's what makes it "Royal" I suppose! :-) To use an earlier expression of mine, Royal Blue is the colour "sandwished" between (plain)Blue and Violet! Well, that was for the annecdote!...Categorising singing is a bit confusing to me, to be honest! I'm tossed between the "theory" or "traditional teaching" that Blue refers to the throat chakra according to the Hindus... and therefore, logically, the voice and everything having to do with it!(communication, singing or even stuttering!...)But also, the fact that I'm trying to follow my own feeling, gut or intuition about the possible "true" link between instruments (of any kind!... the voice being one of them!) and colours!Unless of course, I'm a synesthete who isn't aware of the condition... in which case this research would be just a joke and have no point for me! :-) click here
