Seriously though, what else could the City of London have done? The trading links between the US and the UK are immensely strong, many people from the UK died in the attack and many Americans were in the City (some in our own offices) watching the news come in and fearing for colleagues. The links had to be reaffirmed and the service was a public way of doing it
