Tom Jones! Wonderful!

But here's a little story about the album. The track "The Rocky Road to Dublin" was originally planned for Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones. Kevin Coneff recorded a guide track for him, changing the traditional opening lines from "merry month of June" to "merry month of May" and "Tuam" to "Slane" (Ron Wood's Irish residence, I gather). And in between a couple of verses the riff from "Satisfaction". But when Ron Wood heard what he was supposed to do he exclaimed, "I can't fecking sing that!" So it was released with Kevin's guide track and I'm sure it's none the worse for it.

But when the song segues into a slip jig (The Boys of Ballisadare, if I'm not mistaken) with bluesy lead guitar stuff from the Stones, the sound of Jean Butler dancing (at first I thought it was someone playing on the rim of the bodhran) …. A pure delight.
