I just won the Boat Band's new CD "A Trip To The Lakes" on Greg Stephen's recent Mudcat quiz, and am extemely impressed with it. It's a collection of traditional Cumberland tunes - reels, jigs, hornpipes, airs and songs performed very tastefully. It was apparently recorded in association with a post Foot and Mouth cheering-up folk festival held in the Newfield Arms at Seathwaite in Dunnerdale, Cumbria (one of the world's fine pubs for beer, food and hospitality). If a band that specializes in Cajun/Zydeco can do this good a job of Cumberland tunes, I would really like to hear their Louisiana stuff!Cheers
