I am from S.C. and would like to suggest a few potential venues in this area. The Lodge Alley Inn in Charleston has big loft suites and a huge enclosed courtyard with lots of benches and tables spread about. Santee State Park has camping, a few cabins, and a big rustic meeting room with a huge fireplace. Its restaurant specializes in--you guessed it. The Grove Park Inn in Ashville is expensive, but what a venue. The great hall is all stone construction and is the size of a big ballroom with an enormous fireplace. There are numerous outdoor terraces and grassy plateaus looking out over the mountains. Finally there are your basic-to-rustic beachfront hotels, like the Desoto in Tybee Island, (may be gone) the Blockade Runner in Wrightsville Beach, and the Landmark at Myrtle Beach.
