D'Cats--

Names are very important things. In Arthur C. Clarke's "the 9 billion names of god" the world ends when the computer finds all the names. We're more than halfway to 9 billion souls on the planet, and I hesitate to think that each will have a name for the deity, and once that last soul is born the whole shooting match goes bang and we start over.

In another story I read, the only way to conquer a true wizard is to find out its true name and use it in a spell.

All that having been said, Vixen is a nickname from childhood, which I have incorporated into various endeavors--Vixen Grafix (artwork) and Vixen Muzik (songs)--in my life. I consider the red fox as a personal "Totem Spirit," along with the sugar maple.
