We have to show people here that fear and anger only breed fear and anger. Self-defense requires self discipline, otherwise it becomes just another form of attack. And security requires building a community through compassion, teaching our children that the answer isn't in violence. Even the attacker believes himself to be the defendor, against being oppressed, humiliated, and on and on. It will never end unless we find the courage to lay down our weapons in the face of attack. That is true freedom. Nothing left to lose. Not afraid to lose the ultimate: life itself.
