I agree that Carter should be put forward for the Nobel. Having said that, I think that honesty requires that I state that most unbiased observers of the Presidency, would agree that Carter was probably the worst President in the second half of the 20th Century. To some extent he was snakebit, but he picked a rather inept Cabinet, had a brother who was almost as corrupt as Hillary's, and replaced an equally snakebit President, who has recently won the "Profiles in Courage" award from the Kennedy Foundation, for the unselfish act of pardoning Richard Nixon. Almost thirty years later, Teddy Kennedy admitted that he was wrong about Gerald Ford, and that claiming that the pardon was a payback to Nixon for selecting Ford as his Vice President, was a political ploy to get Carter elected.

That Ford spends the rest of his life playing golf is ample reward for what Carter and the other Democrats did to him. That Carter should get a Nobel for his years of service to his fellow man, after such a dismal failure as President, is also a rough form of justice.
