Seems to me I recall reading that birds that got imprinted on humans often initiated courtship behaviors toward humans as well. It caused problems for folks trying to raise new generations of birds, because it interfered with their attraction to their own species. Of course, a duck would have a harder time with the follow-through than an ostrich would.

Maybe someone who's been following this literature more currently than I have can enlighten us.
