Now Nancy had missed her dear sailor

But he told her of cruel privations
Whilst rounding the Horn in a gale

With cabin boys, male or female

Then putting his hand in his pocket
A fistful of broken tokens he shows

And somehow I think this bold sailor
Had silver and gold in great store
And wedding bells chimed to Wild Mountain Thyme
They don't write them like that any more
