Thanks for the Callahan info, Richie. Yet another myth debunked. It also clears up the spelling issue. I have two recordings of the tune: The Original Dulcimer Players Club (of Michigan) "American Hammer Dulcimer" has the name spelled "Callaghan". On the Highwoods Stringband's "Fire on the Mountain" it's spelled "Callahan". Apparently "Callahan" is correct.
