Well, I must say that the stature of the folks who are not appearing in Hull has definitely improved! First it was Punch The Horse not in Hull. Now it's Eliza Carthy. Who will it be next week? Dougie MacLean? Altan? Or maybe somebody totally outside of folk music. One of those "Sirs" that used to be low-life rock-n-rollers until they got knighted. That's it! Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, and Sir Michael (Mick) Jagger will all three not be appearing in Hull next Saturday! What an auspicious occasion!
