Subject: RE: BS: English Grammar question
Well, I doubt if Schantieman would see anything wrong in saying "very good". Or "not very good".

"Well good" is just a case of a usage that has been current regionally coming into wider use once again

He may not be very well pleased by it, and I'm not too keen on it myself - but it isn't a matter of it being incorrect grammatically, so far as I can see, or even of there being a change of meaning. It just sounds a bit ugly to many ears, including mine, but that's entirely another matter.
