I studied classic guitar for several years and although recent shoulder problems have inhibited my playing a bit, I used to be able to play several concert guitar pieces: works by Fernando Sor, Francisco Tarrèga, Hector Villa-Lobos, and several others, along with some flamenco (had some lessons once from a genuine flamenco guitarist). I could do a pretty decent job on Tarrèga's Recuedos de la Alhambra (tremolo study) when I was thoroughly warmed up and had a good tail-wind. My song accompaniment style is all over the map: from things Richard Dyer-Bennet might do, to Carter Family, to simple "thumb-strums," to some finger-picking, depending on the song. But were it not that it would defeat the purpose, I would give my right arm to be able to play like Justa Picker.
