Guilt by association should never be acceptable. Particularly when, as in the case of Gilles de Rais and Lahire it's to do with things that happen after Jeanne d'Arc had been murdered.

As I've said on another thread, about what the USA has done for us, I'm inclined to think it's maybe rather a pity it wasn't the French rather than the English who came out on top in America in the 18th century.

But to balance that, I think I'd sooner the English had won at the Battle of Hastings.
