"Recording at music sessions" is a question of etiquette and if I was not familar with Brian and Linn whom I observed recording I as "host" would have been concerned enough to raise the question with them. I hope no one who was singing or telling a story was overly concerned.

I'm pleased that some of the old Portland Folk Club special events were taped, which makes it possible to recover songs from members who have passed on the other places or plains of exisitence, or both!

At the same time I would be very much put out if someone taped a person's original song or story and posted it on Mudcat, or used it commercially, without getting permission.

Looking forward to attending the Press Room gathering on Friday, 12/6. Let's start a new thread!
