Wasn't there a fairly classic Draft Dodger's Rag (Paxton ...? Ochs ...?) around if those days. I do remember singing it, with a degree of relish back in 1971, to a young Septic ... oops - Yank (bit of local rhyming slang sneaking in there) in the British Leyland canteen.

He (son of a US Navy Base Commander, then in the Philipines) plaintively asked: "Do you mean an ... A-merican ... wrote that ... ?"!
