Good point, LEJ.

I lived through the sixties, bummed around and had a blast, with all the standard acoutrements: outdoor concerts, be-ins, protests, etc. It was GREAT. And with the exception of two instances when somebody slipped LSD into my beverages, the strongest drug I ever used was pot -- and that was about 100 times weaker than the stuff out on the market today. I've never tried cocaine, or wanted to.

The sixties (and early 70's) were such a high in their own right (by virtue of all the exciting things we did back then, and the now-lost magic), that some of us considered chemical "suplements" unnecessary for sustaining that high.

If you want to look at the way drugs are used "badly," just look at these two categories: poverty and greed. Drug dealers do their best business in the poorest neighborhoods, and the priveleged rich think they're aboove the law and can use whatever gives them that extra rush they need for pushing themselves further ahead of everybody else.

And there's nothing "sixties" about any of that in my book.
