Blues Mike was on Mudchat a couple of nights ago, and even though he lives on an island, it sounded like he was in same danger. At that time he said the fires were two suburbs away, but there was smoke from the fires where he lives. Alison and Bob Bolton both live in that area. There was also a report on the fires at Tweedsblues from someone who lives there. I'll pop over there and see if there's an update.
