Thanks a million, Dai and Liz! The group I occasionally sing with does a rousing version of this whatever their gender. Two nights ago I literally leapt out of bed at 2 amwhen I heard this song roaring through my dreams at top volume- I took it as a sign that I should learn this song!
I just finished explainging to a class of 4th graders why boys could too sing "When I was a fair maid" even though it doesn't apply to them- so I'm with Liz, I can too sing this song!
