For me Fellowship was the Good Parts version of Lord Of The Rings that I've been waiting on for years and years... I liked it better than I've like the book ever since it was brought to my attention exactly how overcrafted, overlong, and undercharcterised the book is... It's a good thing Ol' JRR came first in the "High Fantasy" genre, cause if he hadn't, he never woulda got far...
