When I was a newlywed, it absolutely amazed me .... the amount of superstitions that may mother-in-law firmly held to as truth. I could never watch her cut up a chicken.......very bad luck, I think it could cause someone dear to die! And once I stepped over a cucumber vine.......she wanted to make sure that it was not the "wrong time of the month" for me.......If it were, I could have just killed the vine!
