The Animals were, perhaps, the sweatiest live act of all the British R'n'B groups of the sixties. They came from Newcastle and by the end of 1963 they had established themselves as the leading band in the North East. Under the guidance of producer Mickie Most, their first single Baby Let Me Take You Home, which was an adaptation of a track from the first Bob Dylan album, almost made the Top Twenty.
