Just a tangential remark here...I use a golf bag stand/cart for my stand-up bass. I attached a bit of copper tubing and some padding here and there as well as some velcro straps. Now I can slip the bass into its gig bag, strap it onto the golf bag cart and wheel that beauty just about anywhere. The stand is also a nice place to prop the bass upright while at home rather than to lean it in a corner or to lay it down.
