Thread Name: BS: National Smith Day
Subject: BS: National Smith Day
I got a desk calendar for Christmas that contains all kinds of useless info on commemorative days, weeks and months. Today, Jan 6 is National Smith Day. (In the US). Folks named Smith, Smythe, or it's variations like Goldsmith, are supposed to celebrate. I have no idea why. Or how. So, for all you Smiths out there, have a happy one.

And January is National Oatmeal Month, and National Hot Tea Month. Do they do things like this in other countries?

Like I said, I've got a whole calendar of this stuff, so be prepared for me to bring up similar threads whenever I find a good one to report.
