Time for another S.S.Stewart alert.

This time it's a very sharp Orchestra #2 Model, manufactured in the early 1890's, almost identical to the one I've been playing for the last 20 years. Current bid is $1000 which is less than the reserve, and one could buy it immediately for $1500 if someone hasn't already done that. The seller has done a great job of describing the banjo, and posting images of it; he clearly knows what he's selling.

I'm amazed that it still has the original friction tuners. This is one of the more robust Stewarts that holds up well with steel strings; they were all originally designed for gut strings, and some of the lighter models can't survive steel strings.

I bet this one goes for at least $1500.
