Sounds like BBC does much the same thing as the digital cable options here in PA; basic cable gets you the major networks and mindless crap; for things like Sessions at W. 54th st (just as an example off the top of my head) you have to splurge for the digital cable.

It's alarming to me, btw, that there are really no good nationwide folk or acoustic television shows here that I'm aware of. Turner South, available in a very limited area of the south, has some good stuff like live from the bluebird cafe.. but now that the nashville network has become more gentrified as the national network, there's even less hope. Austin ity limits sometimes has great performers, but last one I flipped on was pat metheny group- excellent musicians, but not what I hope to hear there. Anyone remember some of the old TNN shows with real acoustic music, like bobby bare and friends, or what was the one David Holt used to host?
