Thread Name: Lyr Req: Back on the Diet on Monday (Ben Sands)
Subject: Lyr Add: BACK ON THE DIET ON MONDAY (Ben Sands)
Hello Folks!

I'm working on the Ben Sands song "Back on the diet" and tried to transcribe the lyrics so far but there are some words that I can't understand...I hope that there is someone out there who can help to fill in the right words instead of the ???? passages...

Going back on the diet on Monday.
No more French fries, chocolate, or gin.
Right after midnight on Sunday,
Back on the diet. I've just got to try it.
It's back on the diet again.

Last week I went to the doctor
In was a pain in my toe
He looked at me over his glasses
Then spoke in a voice grave and low
"Just step up on the scales there.
Dear me, just as I feared:
If you don't lose some pounds
You won't be around
By the time the millennium's here."

And he said back on the diet on Monday
No more French fries chocolate or gin
Right after midnight on Sunday
Back on the diet, I've just got to try it
It's back on the diet again

Goin' next day to a party.
Thought I try on some new gear.
Selected the usual sizes,
But the problem was soon all too clear:
In spite of straining and stretching,
Buttons flew off left and right.
I couldn't fit in a thing as the zippers went ping.
Even the tie was too tight.

So it's back on the diet on Monday
No more French fries chocolate or gin
Right after midnight on Sunday
Back on the diet, I've just got to try it
It's back on the diet again

Saturday night to the tavern
Just for a whiskey or three.
Crawled back home around midnight.
Found I'd forgotten my key.
Tried to get in through the window.
Got myself stuck half way in.
????? quarters out with ????????????????
Shoulders and head in the bin.

So farewell, fry in the morning.
So long, whiskey and beer.
Bye-bye, buttered ???? chips.
Your days are numbered, I fear.
Hello bran and corn flakes,
Cottage cheese and black tae,
Fruit by the bag full,
Nuts by the mouth full,
To matters and letters pray

In hope to get help....

Yours, Sebastian
