Thanks for posting the poem, Rustic.. We have a window bird feeder and I never tire of watching the birds and squirrels jockeying for the food. And thanks, Alanww for the quote from the Blackbird... very true. I wrote a song about birds too, titled the Blackbird... different feel: "Blackbird he don't tell the truth, you ask for whiskey and you get Vermouth."

And Allan C, your post reminded me of this verse:

   "Be your fortune good or bad
    There is hope in every day
    So for all the burdens that we share
    Let us lift our voice in praise"

Often it's the burdens that people bring to Mudcat that remind us that we are all in this together.

And every time I see my friend Joe, who is a greeter at Walmart, I say "Have a good day," and He answers, "You have a better one." It's become a game with us to see who can wish the other person an even better day.
