Ok, one at a time:

Rick - Was merely quoting my neice's reaction to anything she finds false...she knows nothing of the Wobblies. And she's not particularly hip, just brutally honest, fearless and gifted with a good BS sniffer.

DMeix - Great songwriter, ok guitarist, good storyteller and a master showman who knows his audience. He's spent a lifetime honing this character until you can't tell Bruce from Utah anymore. It's my humble he's pathological, much like Ramblin' Jack Elliot. They believe it so much they've got 'you'(in the general sense, not you in particular)believing it, too. Great 'entertainers' and 'showman'...I mean when Ramblin' Jack's 'on', who's better? I think Boxcar Willie has more integrity than either of them. At least you 'knew' he was a character and he made no bones about it. I can respect that. But, Mr. Phillips' selling point is the interwoven politics masquerading as 'truth from here' when in fact it's little more than 'marketting by leftist leanings'. I'm not a cynic, quite the opposite. Not a frustrated idealist as I'm not particularly frustrated about anything. I simply know shit from shinola and feel U. Utah Phillips is completely full of the former.
