I didn't mention where: Edgecliff Village, surrounded by Fort Worth, Texas. This morning I found a lone early coreopsis in a cluster planted next to my front porch. I sat out there in the sun with my cup of tea and surveyed the various sprouts. I think the Salvia greggi may bloom early. My redbud may have died, there are no bud swellings on it now--it was never a healthy specimen (it was planted in the heat of last summer, though it got enough water).
