Guest Arkie, I agree a million % about the presenters. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme nor reason to who they select to do the presenting. If it is a musician, it makes sense to me. It made sense to me that B B King present the award for Lomax. It did not make sense to me that Erykah Badu & the other dude (don't know who he was) were involved in the presentation. Same with having Harvey Fierstein in his Hairspray drag, and Rod Stewart with a mini mongrel.

I wish they would focus on music. It used to be that you could watch the Grammies and see an incredibly diverse amount of music, and some of the best talents in the business perform. I'm sorry, but has anyone told Faith Hill she really can't sing? And why couldn't we have heard The Clash and Tito Puente when they were alive? Why can't we ever hear any of the Grammy nominated classical music performances?

Answer: dumbed down to MTV standards network television. Despite the fact that it is the baby boomers who now buy more CDs than any other age group (our kids are busy downloading it for free, and burning their own CDs), and it is our age group that watches network TV more than any other, the Grammies seems to get it more and more wrong every year. I WANT to hear Tony Bennett, Diana Krall, Herbie Hancock, Grupo Mania, Emilio Navaira, Doc Watson & David Holt, Maya Angelou, the San Francisco Symphony with Michael Tilson Thomas conducting Mahler's Symphony No. 6, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and Choir conducted by Robert Spano performing Vaughan Williams' "A Sea Symphony"...

Every one of them Grammy winners on the night.
