Thread Name: Lyr/Chords Req: Little Old Wine Drinker Me
Subject: RE: Lyr/Chords Req: Little old wine drinker me
For some alternative chords, here's the way I play it (same melody, slightly different phrasing, a country-swing feel):

In E, The key Dean Martin started it out in (the song went up a tone for the second verse)

I'm [E]prayin'
for a [A]rain
in Cali[E]fornia
so the grapes can grow
and [G#m]they can make more [B7]wine
and I'm [E]sittin'
in a [A]honky
in Chic[E]ago
with a [E]broken heart
and a [B7]woman on my [E]mind

I [A]match the [B7]man
be[A]hind the [B7]bar
for the [E]jukebox
and the music [G#m]takes me [C#m]back to [A]Tennes[B7]see
and they [E]ask
who's the [A]fool
in the [E]cor[A]ner, [B7]cry[A]in'
I say [E]little ole [B7]wine drinker [E]me

When playing the E chord, vamp on and off the E6th (0221200) for a nice feel. With the A chord, do the same with an A6th (002222).

At the end of the middle line in the chorus (after Tennessee) you might like to run the chords on each beat back down to the E for the next line: B A G#m F#m E

You might want to throw a C#m chord in on the 5th line above, on the word "make".

Have fun.
