If you knew anything about meteorology, you would know that air currents, just like water currents, can vary widely in temperature. Nothing anomalous there. My brother-in-law is a retired Northwest Airlines pilot, and he says that it doesn't happen very often, but it isn't really that unusual for there to be a break in a contrail.
