So this morning I wrote a letter to an eye doctor who corrected a problem I had as a child. It went un- or misdiagnosed for several years, and I had become an academic and behavioural mess. This guy spotted it, fixed it, and my whole life turned around. I've always remembered that, but never told him (he's old, retired, ailing...). Read KimC's message, and wrote him a letter just now.
