Just got here from a more recent thread so this answer is more than a little late...

Susanne, yes the Dubliners did play the reel in between verses and at the end. As there is mention of keys here, from memory, they did the song and reel in G and then moved it up to D (the key I would normaly expect in a session) for the last couple of runs through.
