I checked, and I was right: the use of bodhrans, banjoes, and/or accordians (or any variation thereon) is explicitly forbidden by the Geneva Convention, the Rules of Land Warfare, two hundred and sixteen different treaties, and good taste. They are considered WMDs: Weapons of Musical Dementia.
