I can't believe I've read commentary against political outspokenness on a "folk music" message board. People like Ochs, Dylan, Guthrie, and Seeger aside, the "tradition" of political commentary in music is about as "folk" as you can get. Isn't it? "Vicar of Bray" and all that? Christ, I thought that's at least part of what folk music is FOR.
