Thanks for clearing that spoken-line thing up, Deda. I just couldn't 'hear' how those lines fit into the melody.

I agree that there are some wonderful 'gangsta' songs in this musical -- e.g., Fugue For Tinhorns ("I got the horse right here"), the title song, and "Miss Adelaide's Lament" ("a poi-son can develop a cold").
