The geopolitical scene is such that only chaos can result from Bush's actions. If there are any Iraqi's left, they will be probably either slaughtered or imprisoned,. if not by troops, by the Islamic Shi'ite factions. Turkey doesn't want the US involved in their strike against the Kurds. They want that northern Iraq territory. This is why they don't offer ground space for Bush's war.

As for assassinating Saddam Hussein, this might not be done. Bin Laden has been able to elude his hunters and Hussein could probably do the same.

The idea that this is being done for "democratic principles" is ludicrous. No one can benefit from the slaughter of innocent Iraqis and if the country does become another puppet of the Bush Administration, there will surely be a rebellion against the presence of American troops there.

In the meantime, no one is paying attention to Afghanistan. There is some propaganda about capturing one of the top Al Quaeda officials but what is so peculiar about this enemy posing is that it's all about individuals who are seemingly threats but not about the movements they represent. In the meantime, Al Quaeda and the Taliban are probably re-emerging in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Now that they are being ignored in favor of Hussein, they can have a field day.

This blunder of Bush's will cost the American people any sense of security. The world is a very unstable place at the moment. It's the case of the prescription medicine killing the patient.

Forget about peace in the Middle East. Bush can't be an honest broker. (No Camp David Accords). This pre-emptive business has given both Israel and Palestine a green light to strike whenever they please. They have the Bush Administration for a behavioral model. (This of course goes for any aggressive country in the world.)

The best that can be done now is to vote Bush out of office or make attempts to impeach him. Remember he does not have a mandate by the people and squeaked in by default. (Harris and Renquist). Another possibility is that Bush might be indicted by the World Court at the Haig for war crimes. IMHO this is appropriate.

I grieve for our country. We have been truly Bush-whacked.
