Subject: RE: Songs You Don't Do Anymore
There are those overplayed songs which people want you to play everywhere and make a lot of musicians want to assault folks with the mike stand. What I do is to play the "requests medley" which gets the whole horrible lot of them out of the way in just one song:

Almost eleven - up in Aurich
On a barstool - churning out requests
    There's a homesick American soldier
Who wants that bloody song again
    The one that I detest
    I won't sing "Country Roads"
Cos it gets right up my nose
West Virginia - I've never been there
You can stuff your Country Roads

There is a pub on Union Street
    They call the Mucky Duck
Sailors go there on Friday nights
    Because they want a.....beer

Have you seen the folker who sings, "The Streets of London"
Perched on a barstool with a guitar on his lap
He would like to give his best - he gets paid to play request
Things like "Strets of London" and all that other crap
